COMPANY
Our client is one of the world’s leading supplier of raw polymer materials to the rotomoulding industry. They have been operating for over 20 years and have manufacturing facilities in Brisbane, Adelaide, New Zealand, South-East Asia, UK and Europe. Due to the ever increasing demand for their products they are seeking an experience Chemist/Chemical Engineer with a solid understanding of polymer science.
ROLE
In this challenging position you will be involved in maintaining and developing working relationships with key customers by:
Assisting them with any technical queries they may have in relation to specific products
Supporting them in any approved technical development for new or existing materials or applications
Apart from assisting you key customers, you will also spend part of your time in the lab involved in:
Physical and mechanical testing such as tensile, flexural, falling dart impact test method, MFI, part-density, operate a small rotational moulding machine & powder quality tests (size, dry flow and bulk density)
In-house developed QC testing based on the MFI validation
Writing technical reports to non-technical internal or external stakeholders
SELECTION CRITERIA
To be successful in securing this position you will need to meet the following criteria:
Hold a degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Similar and have a good understanding of polymers and plastic processes, ideally rotomoulding but not essential
Have 3 to 4 years of experience in Technical Sales or Product Management role within the polymer or similar industries
Must have excellent interpersonal & communication skills, as you will be dealing with various external as well as internal stakeholders
Be prepared to travel locally as well as interstate. Some overseas travel may also be required
