CLIENT

Our client is an established Consumer Goods company operating in a variety of markets including the growing health, wellness, personal care and other household items sectors. With a heritage of operating in Australia for well over a Century, the company has operations in Australia, New Zealand, and Asia, whilst locally operates out of offices in both Sydney and Melbourne.

 

ROLE

The role with our client is based in Sydney within their Research and Development Team. Reporting to the Regional Innovation Manager, the primary responsibilities of this role will be to assist with the management of external technical consultants in the development of new  products, product improvements, generation of specifications and scale up.

The main responsibilities include:

  • Work with internal stakeholders such as Marketing and Technical Departments to define requirements as part of product development brief
  • Assist with management of external technical consultants while they are working on new product development or on improvement of current formulations
  • Manage the process of generation of production procedures
  • Coordinate development of Product Documentation in line with regulatory and business requirements
  • Initiate new ideas and conduct research on new products and markets for FMCG industry
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to develop testing protocols to ensure products are fit for purpose
  • Assist in scale up from laboratory to trial/pilot and full-scale batches and undertaking manufacturing validations including the provision of troubleshooting for manufacturing where requirement;
  • Assisting in laboratory maintenance and upkeep;
  • Maintain laboratory health and safety standards.

 

SELECTION CRITERIA

To be successful in your application, you will ideally meet the following criteria:

  • Bachelor degree in Formulation Science, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Science or similar
  • 2 years’ relevant product development/ formulation experience in Cosmetics, Personal care or Food Supplements industry 
  • A strong understanding of product development process from concept through to scale up
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision independently and within a team
  • Must be a lateral and innovative thinker with a strong practical ability
  • Highly organized with strong analytical and negotiation capabilities
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively in presentations and in when writing reports
  • Ability to develop and complete projects and assigned tasks without continued direct supervision
  • Proven ability to prioritize in order to meet deadlines and provide high quality results to management
  • You will possess excellent time management skills, attention to detail and a strong ability to multi-task
