Our Client, a growing Australian owned and operated organisation within the Water Treatment Industry is currently looking for a Technical Consultant to join their team. They are specialists in providing water and energy solutions to various industries including manufacturing, oil/gas, food, beverage and chemical production.

Additional training will be provided for the right candidate.



As the successful applicant, you will hold a Degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, Environmental/Chemical Engineering or similar. The position involves creating and implementing solutions for clients, such as recycling water, reducing water consumption, reducing site energy costs, and chemical dosing. Encompassing both field and office based activities; you will spend approximately 70-80% of your time in the field, working in variety of industrial settings.

This is a dynamic role where you will be required to advise clients and provide them with solutions based on the needs identified by yourself and/or colleagues.

This role will also involve:

  • Onsite water analysis, monitoring and reporting results.
  • Calibration and troubleshooting of instruments such as pH and turbidity meters.
  • Providing advice on water treatment for boiler/cooling waters, evaporator condensers and chemical cleaning.
  • Interpreting the results of chemical analyses (both site tests and results of subsequent laboratory tests) to accurately assess what corrective actions need to be taken.
  • Inventory management of chemicals on specified sites, recording chemical consumption, costs and ordering new stock as needed.
  • Providing a high level of service and maintaining a customer focused approach.

To be considered for this role you must meet the following criteria:

  • Hold a minimum of Bachelor Degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Environmental/Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Previous experience conducting simple/field chemistry tests, recording and interpreting results would be highly regarded
  • Must have a good understanding of basic Chemistry
  • Must be comfortable liaising with clients and providing customer service
  • Experience working in a similar role within the water treatment industry would be highly regarded.
  • Ability to identify, investigate and solve complex problems.
  • Friendly, engaging and goal driven personality.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work as a team member as well as autonomously.
  • The ability to liaise with people of different backgrounds, in a variety of settings and with differing levels of seniority.
  • Due to the client facing component of this role, you must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have current working rights in Australia.
