Our client is a well-known and highly respected Food Manufacturer. They are part of a global, diversified international group employing over 100,000 employees worldwide. With clarity on future direction and clearly defined values, our client is one of Australia’s and New Zealand’s largest food manufacturers.
ROLE
Reporting to Facilities & Services Manager, this senior position is based in Regional Victoria. The person in this role will be responsible for leading and managing trade professional/contractors in Refrigeration, Mechanical, Electrical, Fabrication, Plumbing and Building divisions of the business (Facilities & Services Team). You will improve the performance of the site by effectively supervising and managing all plant/equipment and making sure everything is operating at optimum levels producing quality products safely and within specification.
You will be instrumental in delivering sustainable site performance improvements and planning in Safety, Quality, Productivity Costs and the Environment through rigorous maintenance of equipment and people management.
Some of the responsibilities associated with this role include:
Plan and execute cost effective repairs and maintenance in all relevant areas
Drive and model a leadership style and behaviour that supports a safety culture at all times, and focuses on proactive tasks that ensure zero injuries
Develop functional teams, provide appropriate training and supervise their performance reviews. Organise necessary training for all trades/contractors working in Facilities and & Services team
Develop and maintain productive working relationship with the Facilities & Services Team
Form and maintain relationships with customers within all areas of organisation such as Engineering, Maintenance, Production, Technical, Quality and etc.
Ensure Facilities & Services teams operate efficiently, comply to the company’s safety rules, policies and procedures as well as to Statutory and Legal requirements
Manage resources such that maintenance requests are prioritised appropriately to meet the business needs and stakeholders expectations
Manage execution of major projects eliminating impact to manufacturing productivity by close communication with Planning and Operations departments
Drive cultural change through empowering, leading and role modelling business principles and values and drive improvement in leadership and capability through effective coaching and mentoring
SELECTION CRITERIA
To be successful in your application you will need to meet the following criteria:
Bachelor Degree in an Engineering discipline or relevant trade qualification
Minimum 5 years’ professional experience in Operations Management
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in engineering preferably Services Plant Reliability in large FMCG productions or other related industries
Proven analytical and problem solving skills
Effective communication skills with ability to engage with all stakeholders and build relationships at all levels of organisation internally and externally
Proven record of ability to drive change and sustain change
Demonstrated effectiveness in team engagement, cultural change and process improvement
Stakeholder engagement and influencing skills with a demonstrated ability to mix professionally and build effective relationships at all levels internally and externally
Proven experience identifying and deploying process improvements
Employee and Labour Relations – Fundamental understanding of employee relations
