THE CLIENT

Our client is a well-known and highly respected Food Manufacturer. They are part of a global, diversified international group employing over 100,000 employees worldwide. With clarity on future direction and clearly defined values, our client is one of Australia and New Zealand’s largest food manufacturers.

 

THE ROLE

This senior position is based in Regional Victoria, less than 100kms from Metropolitan Melbourne. Reporting to the Head of Quality of a large National Quality Assurance Team, you will be leading your own team of Quality Assurance Coordinators. The role aims to ensure:

  • The effective management and continuous improvement of the business through the development, implementation and maintenance of policies, systems and procedures in the areas of food safety, GMP, quality systems and product quality
  • New product development is fully supported from inception to full-scale manufacturing from a quality perspective
  • The safety and quality of all products manufactured onsite
  • The leading, coaching and development of the Quality Assurance Coordinators and Operations Leaders onsite

This is a very large, complex and fast-paced operation and requires a Manager who is passionate about food manufacturing with a big focus on Quality Systems and Processes. You must be decisive and confident, able to work with cross functional teams to ensure all Quality concerns are addressed appropriately.

You will have strong leadership qualities and will take ownership of the tasks at hand. You will build credibility and trust by fostering open communication, accountability and recognition for a job well done.

 

SELECTION CRITERIA

To be successful in your application you will need to meet the following criteria:

  • Tertiary qualifications, minimum Bachelor’s Degree with a focus in Food Science, Microbiology or similar
  • You will have significant experience in working in a Quality role ideally within a food manufacturing environment; preferably in chilled processed foods, poultry, meat, seafood or similar
  • Experienced in Quality Management Systems such a BRC/SQF, Coles, WQA, YUM, HACCP and McDonalds
  • Strong understanding and hands on experience working with industry standards/requirements and regulatory bodies
  • Several years’ experience in Quality related supervisory and/or management roles with demonstrated effectiveness in team engagement, cultural change and process improvement
  • The ability to work professionally and build relationships at all levels internally and externally
  • Proven technical capabilities and experience working/leading cross-functional teams
  • Strong leadership and influencing skills with a track record of driving sustainable organisational performance improvement through effective leadership, change management and continuous improvement
  • Well established analytical and problem solving skills ensuring appropriate actions are taken in a timely manner. You will be decisive with a sense of urgency in driving issues to closure
  • Ability to positively support and encourage others through change. Take a leading role in change management
  • Good work ethic, strong presentation skills and a good team leader
  • A leader that supports career aspirations through robust conversation and connecting people to help drive progressive career paths
