Our client is a locally based manufacturer of specialised medical products. They are a listed company and export more than 90% of their products to over 100 countries around the world. The Melbourne Headquarters house the R&D team as well as the production / manufacturing facilities. The company’s success has been driven by creative material science, product design and innovation.

Due to consistent growth of the business and their commitment to R&D, an exciting role has been created to expand their current range of composite materials.

As part of our client’s continued commitment to R&D, an excellent opportunity has arisen for a formulation chemist with proven experience in the development of composite materials for use in medical devices. The successful candidate will join their resin product development team located in Melbourne. To be short-listed, you will have worked in a similar R&D role for many years and will have an excellent understanding of polymer chemistry and viable commercial uses.



To be considered for this position you must meet the following criteria:

  • Minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or similar.
    8+ years’ experience as a proven formulation scientist working in materials science, photopolymer chemistry, polymer chemistry, organic chemistry or similar field.
  • Experience working in the research and development of technical resins, adhesives, coatings, paints or similar materials.
  • A passion for polymer chemistry with an appreciation of commercial aspects of R&D.
  • Demonstrated R&D knowledge/ skills as well as technology identification and product evaluation skills.
  • Able to work autonomously in an ever changing/busy environment and to meet goals.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good work ethic, excellent interpersonal skills and a good team player is a must!
