THE COMPANY

Our client is well known ASX listed Biotech company that develops and commercialises a range of patented products for the global market. Based in Melbourne’s CBD, our client provides modern facilities close to public transport and a friendly, supportive work environment.

 

ROLE

Using innovative technology to deliver drugs across the skin, our client is looking to employ an Analytical Chemist on a permanent basis.

Should you secure this position, your responsibilities will include:

  • Performing test method development/validation
  • Planning and co-ordination of QC, stability, validation and analytical projects within prescribed timelines
  • Develop and validate stability tests methods for new products with HPLC and GC
  • Train and coach staff in the analytical team comprising of 4 scientists
  • Ensure compliance with cGMP, GLP, quality systems and regulatory requirements
  • Creating reports and documentation (methods/specifications etc)
  • Creating documentation around Regulatory framework and external publications

 

REQUIREMENTS

As a true team player reporting to the Product Development Manager, your role will primarily support the completion of the company’s QC, stability and analytical testing programs in a timely and logical manner.

You will have:

  • Bachelor of Science or higher
  • At least 5 years experience working as a QC Chemist in a commercial pharmaceutical laboratory
  • Several years experience working as a team leader, or ready to take the next step in your career
  • Able to use, troubleshoot, maintain and validate HPLC and GC is a must (experience with UPLC would be highly regarded)
  • Excellent organisational, proven people and time management skills
  • Strong OHS background and awareness
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential
  • Attention to detail and strong ability to multi-task.
  • The key to this role will be your flexible “can do” attitude and excellent work ethic.
  • Strong leadership and initiative whilst working autonomously or as part of a team.
