CLIENT

Our client has been manufacturing high grade chemicals used for the production of pharmaceutical drugs from a plant based material for over a decade. They are in the process of moving and their world class manufacturing facility in Melbourne is currently being built and due for completion shortly. As a result, they are looking for an experienced Chemical/Process Engineer to take on the role of Engineering Manager at their facility due to their tremendous growth.

 

POSITION

In this challenging role you will be responsible for all engineering activities, including staff management, maintenance of plant equipment and delivering all capital expenditure projects on site. Additionally you will ensure that all production targets are met on monthly and yearly basis. To be successful, you will be a committed individual with excellent work ethic who is flexible and focused on the task at hand. Hard work is recognised and rewarded by the company.

 

SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Must have a Bachelor of Chemical/Process Engineering or similar
  • Must have at least 10 years experience working in a food, chemical &/or beverage (wine, brewery) environment or similar
  • Knowledge of manufacturing quality systems such as Lean Manufacturing Practice, ISO 9001 &/or others would be advantageous
  • You should have at least 8 to 10 years of experience in a senior engineering capacity
  • You will have the ability to lead & manage a team as well as maintenance of plant equipment and delivering all capital expenditure projects
  • Strong financial and timeline management skills
  • Strong safety background and aptitude
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills with the ability to liaise with various stakeholders, internal and external
  • Must have proven problem solving abilities with a good work ethic and excellent interpersonal skills
