Based in a beautiful suburb, South-West of Sydney, this is a full-time ongoing position.

Reporting to the Head of Research Infrastructure, you will be responsible for a number of Platform Managers and Specialist Scientists as well as a substantial number of indirect reports.

Your core duties will be overseeing the delivery of national research infrastructure capabilities to a national and international user community.

You will also be required to maintain and develop a professional network across our client’s different divisions with a vision to share knowledge and deliver partnered outcomes.

The person in this role will maintain a culture of high performance that encourages innovation, a strong collegiate environment and collaboration with relevant internal and external stakeholders.



To be considered for this opportunity you must be willing to undergo appropriate federal government clearance and shall also need to address the following criteria: –

  • A PhD in a relevant scientific field
  • Prior experience operating and managing a large scientific research facility
  • Proven experience at a senior level in the management of large teams including developing and mentoring of staff
  • Experience with developing and implementing operational programs and research projects with a focus on innovation, cost-effectiveness and targeted outcomes
  • Demonstrated experience with grant writing to obtain funding for ongoing programs
  • Experience in financial management, forecasting, planning, and cost control
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
