Reporting to the Sales Manager Protective Coatings – Australasia region, this senior role represents an exceptional opportunity for a driven and strategic Sales Manager. Ideally, this role will be based in Melbourne, however consideration will be given to Brisbane for the right candidate.

As the successful candidate, your main objective will be to develop and manage the Distribution Network for Protective Coatings in the Oil & Gas, Mining, Infrastructure, Water /Wastewater and Power markets. You will provide training on products and sales techniques to Distributors to assist them in meeting customer needs. Importantly, you will adopt solutions that are differentiated to improve the company’s market share within the Distributors.

Other responsibilities include the setting up of Distributor promotional branding in line with Marketing direction and optimal positioning in the Distributors’ stores. You will increase the number of Distributors and work in collaboration with the Sales, Marketing and Technical Service teams to maximise sales and technical service efforts of all Distributors.

An important aspect of this position will be your ability to provide training in sales techniques to uncover customer needs and solve difficult applications.



To be successful in your application you will need to meet the following criteria:

  • Degree qualification in a relevant field
  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking and influencing skills
  • Five years minimum experience in protective coatings or 10+ years’ relevant experience in markets such as Oil & Gas, Mining, Infrastructure, Water /Wastewater or Power
  • Working knowledge of development and management of Distributor networks
  • Development and execution of strategies, including planning and implementation of various initiatives
  • Proven track record of creating and maintaining customer relationships
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively across all levels of the organization
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to work autonomously but as an integral part of an extended team
  • Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships internally and externally
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to travel within the Australasian region regularly
