CLIENT

Our client is part of a successful and growing multinational company specialising in food testing. Based near Melbourne’s CBD, they have been operating for 70 years with the main testing streams being food chemistry, microbiology, allergens and chemical residues in food products.

The laboratories are state of the art and for those who wish to drive to work, there is plenty of parking onsite. Their strength is their consistency in providing sophisticated analytical services of food products through the use of new, state of the art analytical equipment.

 

ROLE

This position is a 12 month fixed term tenure and will require the successful candidate to work full-time hours, Monday to Friday.  It offers all leave entitlements including annual and personal leave as well as paid public holidays.

The successful candidate will be required to contact potential new clients to get more samples through the door. The focus is on increasing the sample numbers for the Food Chemistry and Microbiology sections.

The ideal candidate will have a Microbiology background and experience in sales.  You will have a current drivers licence and a reliable car which you will use to visit new clients.  Car allowance will be offered at the rate of $0.66 per km.

 

SELECTION CRITERIA

To be shortlisted for this position you must meet the following criteria:

  • Tertiary qualifications in science, ideally Microbiology or Chemistry
  • 2-3 years experience in sales and business development
  • Previous food testing experience will be viewed favourably
  • Excellent communication, organisational and time management skills
  • Results orientated and driven to win new business
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Great interpersonal skills
  • Professional personal presentation with the ability to communicate confidently and effectively with others. Must possess good writing, reading and listening skills
  • Experienced in basic computer skills and operations including use of Microsoft Word and Excel software programs
  • Current full motor vehicle drivers licence and own reliable motor vehicle is a must
  • Must be a permanent resident or have full working rights
