THE CLIENT
Our client is an agency of the Australian Department of Agriculture and Water Resources. It was established in 1993 to centralise the registration of all agricultural and veterinary chemical (agvet) products into the Australian marketplace.
THE OPPORTUNITY
Our client is relocating most of its functions to Armidale in regional Northern New South Wales. Due to this move and the inability of many staff to relocate, a number of senior positions have become available.
These roles are offered as ongoing permanent full-time positions, however, our client will consider fixed term tenures of two, three or four years for the right candidate.
With relocation assistance and the option for sponsorship, these roles present the perfect scenario for professionals to work for a key government authority. If you enjoy travelling, these positions will provide you with the perfect opportunity to explore the many wonders of Australia’s regional NSW and beyond.
THE POSITIONS
The registration process of agricultural chemicals and veterinary medicines involves scientifically evaluating the safety and efficacy of a product in order to protect the health and safety of people, animals, plants and the environment.
These positions are responsible for managing the process of evaluation, allocation of applications and project work as well as the time frames for specialty streams within the Registration Management Evaluation Program. This includes product registration and permits for the approval of veterinary medicines and pesticides.
The successful candidates will be required to provide specialist advice on issues related to the assessment of applications, and address stakeholder concerns in relation to complex and sensitive matters associated with such evaluations.
Working with a high level of autonomy, you will make sound decisions on issues that may significantly impact on the Authority, based on professional judgement, evaluating risks in the context of a complex regulatory environment.
As managers, you will also manage relationships with external service providers, internal and external clients and stakeholders, including commonwealth, state and industry bodies and non-government organisations.
