Our client is a multinational company that prides itself in the quality of the product they manufacture. Their Quality Control laboratory is NATA registered and committed to providing excellent customer service whilst being recognised for its strong Health, Safety and Environmental record.



This position is an ongoing, full-time contract and presents a great opportunity for chemists with a few years experience  to work in a dynamic, professional work environment.

In summary, the role of this Chemist will be to test transportation fuels using a variety of automated and manual instruments such as Octane Engines, GC, XRF and Distillation units as well as various wet chemical techniques.

This position  will involve several months training in the use of Octane Engines and the learning of various testing methods. Your days of work will be Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:30pm. Pending a successful three month probation period, this role will lead to an ongoing contract with the intent to move into a rotating shift (working 3 days on followed by 3 days off). The shifts are 10 hours each and can start as early as 7:00 am and finish as late as 8pm.



We are looking for a team player with an excellent work ethic and can-do attitude. You will use your initiative and excellent time management skills to complete assigned tasks and training on the job.


To be short-listed, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in chemistry or similar
  • Experience in a NATA accredited Quality Control laboratory will be highly regarded
  • Working knowledge of GC, HPLC, AAS and other analytical and wet chemistry techniques will be advantageous but not necessary
  • Being proactive in communicating any problems whilst using your initiative to provide solutions
  • Must be highly organised with a high attention to detail
  • You must be a team player with a demonstrated ability to multi-task and work co-operatively
  • Have a good attitude to your work and be willing to take on responsibility
  • Display excellent written and verbal communication skills,which will be necessary when conversing with internal and external stakeholders
