A highly respected nutritional ingredients manufacturer based in the western suburbs of Melbourne, our client focuses on improving human health. They have become a global leader in the delivery of stable essential fatty acid products to the infant nutrition and medical foods.

 

ROLE

Due to growth, our client requires a permanent full-time QC Chemist to join their team.

This role will suit someone with a few years of laboratory testing experience who displays initiative, excellent communication skills and a good eye for detail. 

You will have experience using NIR, wet chemistry and some GC. You will be a great team player and someone who wishes to succeed and grow. 

Typically you will be involved in routine and non-routine QC testing of raw materials, intermediates and finished goods complying with quality/regulatory standards. You will also be in charge of your own paperwork.

 

REQUIREMENTS

The ideal candidate will need to meet the following criteria:

  • A Science Degree with a major in Food  Science, Chemistry or similar
  • Experience in the sample preparation and testing of oils will be highly regarded
  • Proven knowledge of using NIR and performing various wet chemical tests including titrations
  • Some experience with analytical instruments such as Gas Chromatography (GC)
  • Sound knowledge of OHS and HACCP
  • Experience calibrating laboratory equipment
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as report writing skills
  • Excellent work ethic and a strong eye for detail
