THE COMPANY

Our client, is a highly respected lubricants manufacturer. Based in the Western Suburbs of Melbourne, they are a leader in their field! Their products are distributed and sold throughout Australia and internationally.

 

THE ROLE

Our client has the need for an additional Quality Control Chemist to work in their laboratory. This is an excellent opportunity for a Graduate Chemist to join a company that is willing to provide the necessary training.

This is an entry level, hands on position requiring you to undertake tasks within the Quality Control laboratory including sample preparation and testing of lubricants using wet chemistry and instrumental techniques as well as simple laboratory maintenance. In particular, some of the tests include:

  • TAN/TBN
  • Metals using ICP
  • Viscosity
  • Particle Count and pH
  • Moisture using Karl Fischer
  • FTIR
  • Flash points and more

 

SELECTION CRITERIA

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following selection criteria:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Chemistry or similar
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A good team player with lots of initiative
  • Great attitude to work
  • Good trouble shooting and problem solving skills
  • Lots of enthusiasm together with excellent time management skills
