COMPANY

Our client is a busy chemical manufacturer that has been operating globally for well over 70 years. They specialise in the manufacturing of crop protection and various other products for the agricultural industry. Based in the Central Coast region of New South Wales, approximately 100km NE of Sydney, our client requires an experienced Laboratory Chemist for a 12 month fixed term tenure with view to becoming permanent.

 

ROLE

In this position you will be responsible for testing raw materials and formulated product samples in accordance with written test procedures using HPLC, GC, FTIR and wet-chemistry techniques. You will also be testing rainwater and trade waste water and carrying out documentation audits and yield calculations to ensure compliance with APVMA cGMP.

Working in a laboratory within a busy manufacturing site, you will be required to follow and adhere to strict health, safety and environmental requirements.

 

SELECTION CRITERIA

In order to secure this position you will need to meet the following criteria:

  • Qualified Scientist with a Bachelor Degree in Analytical Chemistry or higher and have 3 to 5 years of experience working in a similar role
  • Must have experience with analytical equipment such as HPLC and/or GC
  • Experience in performing routine calibrations, cleaning and servicing of laboratory test equipment
  • Ability to raise non-conformance” or ”out of specification” reports on finished goods and assist in investigations if required
  • Must have a good eye for detail and an appreciation for safety in the work place
  • Experience working within a cGMP and GLP environment and knowledge of APVMA will be highly regarded but is not necessary
  • Good writing skills and computer literacy
  • Excellent communication skills – you will be liaising with personnel of all levels of the company on a daily basis such as Production, Planning and Warehousing staff
  • Good time management skills and the ability to multi task
  • MUST be a good team player and reliable!
  • Must have current work rights- Working Holiday Visa holders will be considered
