Our client is a well-known and highly respected Food Manufacturer. They are part of a global, diversified international group employing over 100,000 employees worldwide. With clarity on future direction and clearly defined values, our client is one of Australia’s and New Zealand’s largest food manufacturers.

 

THE ROLE

This exciting permanent full-time position is based in Regional Victoria, less than 130km from Metropolitan Melbourne. Reporting to the Senior Quality Business Partner, the role aims to ensure:

  • The effective management and continuous improvement of the business through the development, implementation and maintenance of policies, systems and procedures in the areas of food safety, GMP, quality systems and product quality
  • Coordination of quality assurance responsibilities of all site NPD projects and trials
  • The safety and quality of all products manufactured onsite
  • The leading, coaching and development of the Quality Assurance Coordinators and Operations Leaders onsite
  • Maintenance of existing certification through conducting and achieving site certification audits
  • Handling close out and root cause analysis
  • Assist in the development and delivery of training programs
  • The building of a strong and positive company culture
  • Third party supplier liaison and management

This is a very large, complex and fast-paced operation and requires a Quality Professional who is passionate about food manufacturing with a big focus on Quality Systems and Processes.

You must be confident and able to work with cross functional teams to ensure all Quality concerns are addressed appropriately. You will have strong leadership qualities and will take ownership of the tasks at hand.  You will build credibility and trust by fostering open communication, accountability and recognition for a job well done. You will demonstrate energy and passion for the overall vision and direction of the company.

 

SELECTION CRITERIA

To be successful in your application you will need to meet the following criteria:

  • Tertiary qualifications, minimum Bachelor’s Degree with a focus in Food Science, Microbiology or similar
  • You will have significant experience working in a Quality role ideally within a high risk food manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding and hands on experience working with Food Quality Management Systems, industry standards/requirements (HACCP, BRC/SQF, WQA and equivalents) and regulatory bodies
  • The ability to work professionally and build relationships at all levels internally and externally
  • Strong leadership and influencing skills with a track record of driving sustainable organisational performance improvement, change management and continuous improvement
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills ensuring appropriate actions are taken in a timely manner. You will be decisive with a sense of urgency in driving issues to closure
  • Proven experience in identifying and deploying process improvements
  • Good work ethic, strong presentation skills and a good team leader
