Based in Melbourne’s Eastern Suburbs, our client is a local manufacturing business with it’s range of products being supplied to the food industry. Locally owned and operated, they have been growing successfully for more than a decade. Substantial investment in plant and equipment has resulted in a multi-million dollar business, and their clients range from small to large manufacturing companies including well recognised FMCG brands.



Reporting to the Quality Manager, this position is responsible for ensuring Quality Standards are met for the entire Supply Chain. This will be done by: conducting routine testing and recording of results; auditing systems and processes; training manufacturing staff; and rectifying any abnormal results.

This role would suit someone who has had some experience in a Quality Assurance or Quality Control role in Food Manufacturing environment beyond their tertiary education. Duties will vary from participating in Food Safety and Quality Management programs including internal and external Auditing, in-line process control measurements through to Vendor Assurance, Product Labelling and Sensory & Shelf-life Evaluation activities.



You will have a degree in Food Science & Technology or a related degree, and have previous experience in a Food Manufacturing environment.

In addition, you will have:

  • Good working knowledge of HACCP & Food Safety Systems
  • Exposure to SQF &/or BRC Systems
  • Initiative, learning agility and problem solving abilities
  • Demonstrated ability to balance a range of activities through organisation and prioritisation
  • High level of proficiency in Word and Excel, and evidence of the ability to document results accurately and interpret findings
  • Well developed communication skills as some training of factory staff in Quality, Hygiene and OH&S will be a requirement for this role
  • Strong eye for detail is essential, including proof reading of product labels
  • Working knowledge of FSANZ
