Based in the western suburbs of Sydney, the Quality Assurance Officer reports to the Quality Manager of the site. This permanent full-time role will support the Quality Manager by driving the Quality, Safety and Environmental Management System.

The Quality Assurance Officer role will suit someone who has operational experience and has progressed from their tertiary education to a Quality Assurance or Quality Control role within the Pharmaceutical or Food Manufacturing environment. Experience with GMP, HACCP and ISO 9001 will be well regarded.

Main duties associated with this role include:

  • Assisting the QA Manager with the maintenance, implementation and compliance of the Quality, Safety and Environment Management System and with implementing continuous improvement ideas within the company
  • Support the management of the Document Control and Change Control systems
  • Implement and manage the Training system and train Operators, Assistants and Staff in current documentation
  • Participate in the internal audit program
  • Investigate and document quality non-conformance events (NCRs)
  • Reply to customers on non- conformance issues and follow up corrective actions
  • Assist the QA Manager with customer and certification audits
  • Action the calibration program as required
  • Assist with the monthly and other regular reporting of Key Performance Indicators and trends
  • Liaise with QA Manager in producing and managing Colour Standards
  • Process returned stock and liaise with Accounts and Sales for credit note approval



To be considered for this rare career opportunity you will need to meet the following criteria:

  • A degree in Science specialising in Materials, Food, Pharmaceuticals or other relevant areas
  • Excellent influencing skills and a strong personality with a genuine desire to find the root cause of any problems
  • Experience in document control, change control and changing ideally in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge and ability to perform internal auditing, resolve and/or categorise quality issues
  • Knowledge and experience with GMP, HACCP, ISO9001 and EAN/UCC will see you short-listed
  • Must be analytical and have proven knowledge and use of Quality Management techniques including problem solving, continuous improvement and statistical analysis
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills able to work with people at all levels of ability and from different cultures & backgrounds
  • High level of proficiency in Word and Excel, along with evidence of the ability to document results accurately and interpret findings
  • Able to work well under pressure, with proven efficiency and ability to plan work schedules and stick to deadlines
