THE CLIENT
Our client is one of Australia’s leading specialty food distribution groups comprising many companies that are well known in the Industry. With national distribution capabilities, they service a diverse customer base including Australia’s high profile restaurants, leading catering companies, hotels, airlines and retailers.
THE ROLE
This role is on an initial 6-month Fixed Term contract offering full time hours and the option to further extend on a month to month basis. The role is conveniently based between the airport and Surry Hills.
Reporting to both the National QA Manager and the NSW Logistics Manager, the primary purpose is to ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and guidelines. The role is to assist in achieving compliance with all customer expectations and internal quality and food safety standards and policies. The role also coordinates the deliveries of Imported products to the Warehouses in NSW.
This role will suit be an energetic and disciplined person with a few years’ experience in a similar QA role. Exposure to GMP/VQM, external audits and working knowledge of FSANZ, Quarantine and Label Standards, is preferred but not necessary.
Responsibilities include:
Ensure full knowledge of all pending arrivals of imported products to NSW Sites via Sea or Air
Coordinate with the relevant Suppliers (Freight Forwarders/Transport Companies) and Warehouse Staff the deliveries into Sites in NSW
Coordinate IFIP program – inspection, hold/releases with Biosecurity and Warehouse
Ensure all products received meet relevant Quality Standards before releasing for sale
Liaise with relevant departments to ensure all required documentation is provided after products have arrived onsite
Maintain & update the compliance database as required
Follow up closure of CAR’s when issued after an Internal Audit to ensure closed out.
Ensure all relevant GMP Forms are completed
Ensure relevant Site(s) are “External Audit Ready” at all times
Attend Sites where necessary to assist in the External Audit of Suppliers
Manage Surveillance Audits as per Audit Schedule provided and advise outcomes to Management.
Check all relevant incoming stock (International & Domestic) where appropriate and report on findings to all relevant individuals
Assist with the investigation and close out of customer complaints
Attend all QA Meeting and provide Reports where necessary
Assist in providing guidance, direction and answers to Quality related questions throughout the business
SELECTION CRITERIA
To be successful for this wonderful opportunity you will need to meet the following criteria:
Food Technology Degree or similar
Experience in a Quality Assurance role within the food industry
Technical knowledge of quality and food safety
Experience in dealing with regulatory agencies
Experience in systems, developing, maintaining and enforcing schedules
GMP, HACCP, Labelling, Allergens Micro and Internal Auditing experience (Certification preferred, if not, training will be provided
Experience in submitting and implementing Corrective Action Plans
Strong verbal and written English communication skills
Experience in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Databases
Strong organisation and planning skills
Ability to work autonomously
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with a variety of people at all levels, internally and externally.
