Our client is a well known, successful biotechnology company based in Melbourne’s CBD. Boasting modern facilities and state-of-the-art laboratories, our client offers a friendly, supportive work environment. Although there is the provision of on-site parking, their office is conveniently located near access points within the city’s public transport system.



As a Senior Scientist within the Analytical Development team, you will play a critical role in the company by supporting the quality control of drug substances, raw materials, and drug products.

Should you secure this position, your responsibilities will include:

  • coordinating and supporting QC and stability activities throughout the product development lifecycle
  • serving as a Subject Matter Expert in technical meetings that are held internally and with external parties
  • ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery of completed projects in accordance with agreed service levels and timelines
  • maintaining compliance with cGMP, GLP, quality systems and pharmaceutical regulatory requirements
  • providing support for analytical development activities, which includes method development, validation, and drug product characterisation studies, if required



  • You must hold at least a BSc degree, or equivalent, in a relevant discipline and also have an in-depth understanding of stability requirements within the pharmaceutical industry
  • You will need to have significant hands-on experience with chromatography, both HPLC & GC, in the context of meeting QC requirements within a GMP-compliant laboratory
  • Capability to supervise a team and to prioritise QC, stability, and analytical testing activities performed within a pharmaceutical laboratory
  • Proven ability to write high-quality scientific reports and other documentation
  • Highly developed ability to conduct troubleshooting and demonstrable experience with problem-solving
  • This role will require occasional international travel to facilitate technical transfer activities
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure all project requirements are understood and then met
  • The key to succeeding in this role will be a flexible “can do” attitude combined with an excellent work ethic
