CLIENT

Our client is a well-respected global lubricants manufacturing company located in the western suburbs of Melbourne. They hold a number of accreditations including IATF 16949. Their product range is varied and incorporates lubricating oils and related specialties for virtually all areas of application and sectors.

 

THE ROLE

This is a 6-month contract role with view for extension. The successful candidate will have some experience in Industry, or be a graduate that is willing to be trained.

Working knowledge of analytical instrumentation and general wet chemistry will be highly regarded. We are particularly interested in candidates who are motivated, hard-working, dependable, and show initiative and loyalty.

Main responsibilities associated with this role include:

  • Routine QC sample preparation and testing
  • Testing of raw materials and finished products utilising various analytical instruments and wet chemical techniques
  • The preparation of relevant documentation
  • Following OH&S guidelines

This is a full-time contract role, working Monday to Friday, 7.5 hours per day, for six months, with view for extension. 

After an initial training period, the successful candidate may be required to work afternoon shifts (11:30am – 8:30pm). The applicable loading will apply.

 

SELECTION CRITERIA

To be successful in your application you will need to meet the following criteria:

  • Bachelor of Science in Chemistry or similar
  • One to three years of experience in a laboratory  will see you shortlisted
  • Experience in testing of oil-based products, including ICP testing highly regarded
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills and a flexible “can do” attitude
  • You will possess excellent time management skills, attention to detail and a strong ability to multi-task
  • Key to this role will strong work ethic, and initiative whilst working autonomously or as part of a team
