CLIENT

Our client, a well known and highly respected lubricant manufacturer, is currently seeking a motivated Quality Control Chemist with some experience in a similar industry, to join their team for an eight month maternity leave contract.

 

ROLE

The successful candidate will have worked in a Commercial Laboratory, with working knowledge of analytical instrumentation and general wet chemistry. We are particularly interested in candidates who are motivated, hard-working, dependable, and that show initiative and loyalty.

Your duties will include:

  • Routine QC Sample Preparation and Testing
  • Use of Testing Equipment such as – ICP
  • Bench Testing- including Manual Titrations
  • General Laboratory Housekeeping
  • Filing and Documentation
  • Be able to work staggered start times (6.30am, 7.30am, 8.30am)
  • Be willing to be flexible with working hours
  • You will be trained how to use SAP QM

 

REQUIREMENTS

To be successful in your application you will need to meet the following criteria:

  • Bachelors Degree in chemistry or a related field.
  • You must have one to three years experience working in a commercial Laboratory
  • You must have experience using ICP and doing manual titrations
  • Experience working as a QC Chemist in a lubes testing facility or similar would be highly regarded.
  • Experience using analytical instrumentation and wet chemistry
  • Must have a good eye for detail and an appreciation for safety in the work place.
  • Excellent communication skills – you will be liaising with personnel of all levels of the company.
  • You must be computer literate, experience using SAP would be highly regarded
  • Good time management skills and the ability to multi task.
  • MUST be a good team player and reliable!
  • Must be flexible with early morning starts to accommodate laboratory demands
