QC Chemist – Lubricants Industry (The position has been filled)

Our client, a well known and highly respected lubricant manufacturer, is currently seeking a motivated Quality Control Chemist with some experience in a similar industry, to join their team for a 12 month maternity leave contract.



The successful candidate will have worked in a Commercial Laboratory, with working knowledge of analytical instrumentation and general wet chemistry.  We are particularly interested in candidates who are motivated, hard-working, dependable, and show initiative and loyalty.

Your duties will include:

  • Routine QC Sample Preparation and Testing
  • Use of Testing Equipment such as – ICP and FTIR
  • Bench Testing- including Manual Titrations
  • General Laboratory Housekeeping
  • Filing and Documentation
  • You will be trained how to use SAP QM



To be successful in your application you will need to meet the following criteria:

  • Bachelors Degree in chemistry or a related field
  • 1 – 3 years experience working in a commercial Laboratory
  • Experience using ICP, FTIR and doing manual titrations
  • Previous experience working as a QC Chemist in a lubricant testing facility or similar would be highly regarded
  • Experience using analytical instrumentation and wet chemistry
  • Must have a good eye for detail and an appreciation for safety in the work place
  • Excellent communication skills – you will be liaising with personnel of all levels of the company
  • You must be computer literate, experience using SAP would be highly regarded or any other laboratory database
  • Good time management skills and the ability to multi task
  • MUST be a good team player and reliable!
  • Must be flexible with early morning starts to accommodate laboratory demands
