Our client is a high profile Australian company that has been involved in the research, development, manufacturing and distribution of high-quality personal care products for almost a century. With its state-of-the-art facilities, including R&D and QC laboratories overseen by a dedicated senior team, the company supplies products to major retailers within Australia and also more widely throughout the Asia-Pacific region.



Our client is looking to appoint a Chemist within their QC Team – Raw Materials. You will be a degree-qualified chemist and have experience in quality control of  Personal Care or Pharmaceutical products. The position will also require you to test all raw materials and coordinate external testing as required.

Following a period of initial training and with ongoing professional development, the role of QC Raw Material Chemist shall ultimately involve: –

  • Conducting QC testing of all Raw Materials using wet chemistry techniques and instrumentation
  • Calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment involved in testing of raw materials
  • Raise ‘out of specification’ reports when required
  • Record keeping and document control where relevant
  • Organising and sending of samples for external testing
  • Preparation of standard operating procedures and test methods
  • Undertake water sampling
  • Assisting in the maintenance and ongoing upkeep of the laboratory.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate they are organised, inquisitive, and tenacious. Our client is looking for a motivated and driven candidate who is capable to carry out tasks efficiently and correctly.



In addition to truly being a team player, the ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:

  • Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Science, preferably with a major in Chemistry;
  • Two years of hands-on experience with Quality Control testing in personal care or pharmaceutical industry
  • Experience working in a TGA regulated environment
  • Experience with Wet Chemistry testing including viscosity, moisture and etc
  • Key to this role will be a flexible “can do” attitude, an excellent work ethic, and the ability to demonstrate your initiative
  • You must possess excellent organisational skills, pay keen attention to detail, and a proven ability to manage multiple concurrent activities; and

This position is most certainly suitable for recent graduates, particularly those who may have accrued from several months’ to about a year’s relevant experience.
