QA Coordinator Assistant – Petroleum (The position has been filled)

Our client refines a variety of crude oils and feedstocks into a range of fuels and petroleum products for distribution both locally and overseas. They include petrol, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), diesel, aviation fuel, propylene, solvents and bitumen. Their culture is supportive, collaborative and friendly so the successful candidate will need to demonstrate these attributes.



This is a seven month contract working 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The successful candidate will undertake the following duties:

  • Maintain and report on laboratory quality assurance activities
  • Perform test runs associated with development of new methods
  • Provide non-routine investigations-testing
  • Assist in the administration of the various proficiency schemes in which the laboratory participates
  • Sampling of routine and non routine production and environmental streams and finished product tanks as required
  • Prepare calibration standards and act as a back up for monitoring the routine environmental testing schedule
  • Perform ground water monitoring testing
  • Perform project testing for NIR modelling
  • Perform PAN/PAS laboratory equipment QA testing



To be considered for this excellent and rare opportunity, you will need to meet the following criteria:

  • Bachelor of Science in Chemistry or similar
    Practical experience working in an oil or chemical testing laboratory
  • NATA Signatory for relevant test methods
  • Commitment to HS&E requirements in a fast paced, diversified laboratory environment
  • Experience in the use of various analytical instruments and wet chemistry techniques
  • Keen attention to detail with the ability to review technical data and test results for correctness
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Confident decision maker and demonstrated leadership skills
  • Good problem solver and a good team player able to exhibit initiative is a must!
