ROLE

This position is ideal for a Purchasing Manager or a Senior Purchasing Officer looking to take the next step in their career.

The successful candidate will have solid experience in purchasing of active and excipient materials for the health supplement contract manufacturing industry or pharmaceutical-related industry. They will possess excellent negotiating skills, be customer focused, and time efficient. To be short-listed, you will have worked in similar roles within contract manufacturing industry for five or more years and will have excellent understanding of GMP and TGA regulations.

You will be required to perform the following tasks:

  • Maintain a vigorous raw material data base by managing active suppliers, pricing of raw materials, shipping terms, lead times, raw material expiry dates and MOQ
  • Request raw material quotations from existing and new suppliers and recommend outcome to General Manager
  • Regularly identify price reduction opportunities and obtain competitive quotes
  • Evaluate and approve new suppliers / perform supplier reviews
  • Communicate and maintain accurate flow of information to Production Department to ensure smooth operations of manufacturing process
  • Actively connect with Sales Department, Quality Assurance and Quality Control Departments to ensure accurate product management and on time product deliveries
  • Create and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure fast response and to avoid quality issues
  • Raise and process purchase orders based on the production schedule considering lead-time

 

SELECTION CRITERIA

To be successful in your application you must meet the following criteria:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree and/or equivalent work experience
  • 5-10 years’ experience in a purchasing role in contract manufacturing industry for health supplements or related pharmaceutical products
  • Comprehensive knowledge of TGA requirements with experience in Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
  • Experienced in using Excel program and SAP system
  • Proven skills in administration and reporting with ability to plan and prioritize work and complete tasks with tight deadlines
  • High attention to details
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Abiltiy to negotiate pricing and terms of payments with suppliers will see you shortlisted
  • Highly motivated, you must be someone who is looking for a long term career opportunity and committed to growing with the company
  • A good work ethic, excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work as a team member or autonomously
