Opportunity for a Qualified Procurement Specialist to Join a Vibrant Team
Initial Fixed Term Tenure Role to be Reviewed for Permanency
OUR CLIENT
Our client is an established Consumer Goods company operating in a variety of markets including the growing health, wellness, food, personal care, and other household items sectors. With a heritage of operating in Australia for well over a century, the company has operations in Australia, New Zealand, and Asia, whilst locally operates out of both Sydney and Melbourne.
ROLE
Reporting directly to the Pre-Production Manager, the successful candidate will ensure that new products transition from design to the first production smoothly. This will be achieved by coordinating activities between the Company, different suppliers and local manufacturers. You will liaise with the internal Technical Team and external stakeholders to coordinate logistics, material costings and quality of products from personal care, food, and health industry.
This initial six month fixed term tenure role will be reviewed with a view to becoming permanent.
Some of the responsibilities include:
Effectively manage critical path for each project, ensuring schedules, samples and first production are met
Manage sourcing and supply of required raw materials with local and overseas suppliers
Analyse raw material costing and conduct negotiations with suppliers to achieve favorable pricing and terms & conditions under the guidance of Pre-Production Manager
Coordinate and ascertain stability trials of new products
Assist in creating and implementing sourcing technical documents for new products
Manage documentation – ensure all negotiated agreements are documented and signed
Perform general administrative support as required
Negotiate better pricing and terms & conditions during supplier reviews
Uphold the highest standards of product quality by monitoring the supplier’s performance and logistics performance
Coordinate issue resolutions with suppliers
SELECTION CRITERIA
To be successful in your application you will need to meet the following criteria:
Relevant qualifications related to Business, Science, Procurement, Logistics, Project Management or similar
Proven working experience in a similar role in manufacturing environment FMCG such as Cosmetics, Food, Pharmaceuticals or Health Industry
2-3 years’ relevant procurement or project management experience
Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills
Proven professional approach in business dealings
Strong negotiation skills
Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively both independently and within a team
Highly organized with a strong analytical mindset
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Ability to develop and complete projects
Proven ability to prioritize in order to meet deadlines and provide high-quality results to management
Interest in the Health, Wellness & Beauty sector
