CLIENT

Based in Melbourne’s Eastern Suburbs, our client is a successful Australian owned and operated manufacturing business that supplies its range of products to the food industry. The business has been growing rapidly for over a decade and, through a substantial investment in its plant and equipment, has resulted in a multi-million dollar company. Its products are ingredients supplied to food manufacturing companies that includes several well-recognised FMCG brands.

 

ROLE

Due to an internal move, this permanent role is to commence early in 2018 and will require someone who has initiative and is able to work autonomously.

The Production Planner will have full responsibility for setting and maintaining the production plan from end-to-end. This means they will need to ensure full awareness of raw materials available and lead-times, through to sales orders and forecast. As the sole production planner for the business, you will work both independently and cross-functionally to ensure customer service is achieved to business requirements.

 

ELECTION CRITERIA

To be successful in your application you will need to meet the following criteria:

  • Relevant experience in Production Planning within Supply Chain of a Manufacturing Organisation – preferably within Food
  • Proven ability with ERP methodology, superior MS Excel skills
  • Ability to work with all levels of the business – from Factory Floor through Warehousing, Customer Service, Maintenance and Quality to Manufacturing Manager, Sales and Managing Director
  • Ability to organise, prioritise and remain calm under pressure
  • Proven analytical and problem solving skills to ensure the team when system issues arise – required to make quick decisions, and put clear actions into place to proactively address problems on a daily basis
  • Resolve, predict and present resolutions to manage availability issues arising from delivery of the production schedule with Manufacturing team to ensure priorities are aligned and set throughout all manufacturing functions and that a best for business solution is put in place
  • Utilise plan attainment measure and other manufacturing performance management tools to assess and ensure DIFOT
  • Proven experience identifying and deploying process improvements, such as reduction in plan changes
