ROLE
This position is ideal for an experienced Production Manager with many years’ experience in manufacturing of tablets and soft gel formulations within the pharmaceutical industry.
The successful candidate will have strong problem solving abilities, leadership qualities – a decision maker who will be able to complete tasks and projects on time. To be short-listed, you will have worked in similar production manager roles for a number of years and will have a proven track record of production planning, people management and problem solving. You will have good understanding of TGA and GMP requirements.
You will be required to perform the following tasks:
Ensure accurate production planning and manufacturing of complementary products such as capsules, gels, tablets, syrups and liquids
Manage daily planning and factory ‘up-keep’ in accordance to GMP practices
Attend to daily operational issues and problem solve in timely and efficient manner
Manage and drive production teams to achieve maximum yields while accurately following policies and procedures
Monitor raw and packaging materials and other ingredients to ensure quality and required stock levels are maintained
Work with Quality Control staff to monitor and analyse trends and improve production quality
Generate and analyse various production reports to assess trends and improve production efficiency and address outstanding issues
Interview, hire, and train employees, as well as assigning duties, and supervise their performance in accordance to Australian laws and company policies
Conduct performance reviews, award and discipline employers
Work with Engineering to ensure all production equipment is calibrated and maintained regularly
Work with Quality Control and Purchasing Departments to discuss test results of product testing
Maintain records for personnel attendance, line preparation, production reports
Promote employee motivation through positive approach, training and regular performance reviews
Ensure all personnel follow OH&S policies, report and manage and non-conformities
SELECTION CRITERIA
To be successful in your application you must meet the following criteria:
Bachelor of Science or Engineering or related discipline
10+ years of experience in a production management role within the pharmaceutical industry
Experience with manufacturing of soft gel, tablets, powder and liquid products
Mechanical aptitude and experience in machine operation
Managerial experience in a Pharmaceutical production environment
Have analytical skills and be able to multitask
Have the ability to adapt and think on your feet and be able to respond to frequently changing production pressures
Delegate tasks and identify needs for additional training of production staff
Be able to work independently and in a team environment
You must have good written and verbal communication skills, be a good team player and a strategic problem solver
Experience utilising Production Management software to generate and analyse various production reports will be highly regarded
