Our client is a leading supplier of kitchen, bathroom and laundry related products and has grown substantially over the last ten years. This has been due to the international recognition of the aesthetic design features of the product range, the quality of the product and the focus on customer service by the company. Their focus on growth is through innovation and export expansion, and they are continuing to invest in their local footprint in Melbourne’s Eastern suburbs.



To assist in this expansion, our client wants to add a specific skillset to the business, and ensure that new contemporary and aesthetic designs are backed up by superior in-home performance. The Product Design Engineer will be responsible for this product performance of new products, and will need an understanding of both CAD software and practical hands-on Design for Manufacturing skills.

This is a senior full-time role reporting to the Managing Director, and we are looking for someone who has a track record of success in a closely related industry. They will have a minimum of 10 years product engineering experience and be confident in their creative abilities to link ideas, problem solve through rapid prototyping and conduct structured design of experiments.



We are looking for a Senior Design Engineer with Material Science who can bring innovative ideas to commercial reality and additionally project manage the development process.

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or Material Science
  • Over 10 years engineering experience in an industrial setting associated with product manufacturing
  • Proven ability to Project Manage, Design and Produce elegant engineering solutions to new products
  • Excellent listening and advocacy skills (verbal and written) as you will be collaborating with all functions in the business, suppliers and IP lawyers when required
  • Strong proficiency in 3D CAD (Solidworks), Illustrator, Photoshop and MS Office suite
  • Experience with 3D printer operation and rapid prototyping
  • MUST be a good team player and reliable!
