This position is ideal for an experienced Procurement professional or a seasoned Purchasing Officer looking to take the next step in their career.

The successful candidate will have solid experience in purchasing ingredients and materials for the health supplement contract manufacturing industry or related industry. They will possess excellent negotiating skills, be customer focused,  and time efficient. To be short-listed, you will have worked in similar roles within the manufacturing industry for four or more years and will have an appreciation for GMP and TGA regulations.

You will be required to perform the following tasks:

  • Maintain a vigorous raw material database by managing active suppliers, pricing of raw materials, shipping terms, lead times, raw material expiry dates and MOQ
  • Obtaining raw material quotations from existing and new suppliers and recommending outcomes to Senior Procurement Manager
  • Regularly identifying price reduction opportunities and obtaining competitive quotes
  • Evaluating and approving new suppliers / performing supplier reviews
  • Communicating and maintaining accurate flow of information to Production Department to ensure smooth operations of manufacturing process
  • Actively liaising with Sales Department, Quality Assurance and Quality Control Departments to ensure accurate product management and on time product deliveries
  • Constantly and continuously monitor in-bound, stock on hand and out-bound items
  • Manage and develop a small team
  • Creating and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers to ensure fast response and to avoid quality issues
  • Raising and processing purchase orders based on the production schedule considering lead-time
  • Process payments and invoices



To be successful in your application you must meet the following criteria:

  • Relevant qualifications
  • Four or more years’ experience in purchasing roles within the manufacturing industry for health supplements, food or related pharmaceutical products
  • Knowledge of TGA requirements with experience in Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
  • Proven experience in the use of Excel and SAP 
  • Proven skills in administration and reporting with the ability to plan and prioritise work and complete tasks within tight deadlines
  • High attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to negotiate pricing and terms of payments with suppliers
  • Highly motivated, you must be someone who is looking for a long term career opportunity and committed to growing with the company
  • A good work ethic, excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work as a team member or autonomously
