Our client is an independent Australian owned company. With their innovative, efficient extraction and purification manufacturing process, they strive to be a world leader in the supply of APIs to be used in drug manufacture. With the expansion of their business, our client needs a Process Development Chemist.



We are looking for a dynamic person with a strong background in Organic Chemistry. Reporting to the Technical Manager, you will be involved in the development and optimisation of extraction and testing of defined and novel compounds used in drug development.

Your main responsibilities will include the development of and potential improvements to established processes with the aim of improving efficiency, product purity and reducing cost; plan and conduct experiments to assess the viability of these potential process improvements; to provide technical and analytical support during process commissioning, identify critical process parameters and assist in the development of analytical and in process check methods.

You will also be required to assist in the training of new staff, assist in the maintenance of laboratory accreditations and the day to day upkeep and safety of the laboratory.



To be considered for this position, you will need to meet to following criteria:

  • PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry or Pharmaceutical Science
  • Experience with scale ups for pharmaceutical products is a must!
  • Three years minimum experience working in a research setting within industry
  • Working knowledge of cGMP would be highly regarded
  • Experience with Analytical Instruments such as HPLC and GC
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent problem solving skills and technical report writing
  • Good work ethic, excellent interpersonal skill and a good team player is a must!
