Our client is a progressive and expanding company specialising in the field of precious metals refining. Their operations cover all three facets of this industry and as such their facilities include a laboratory, a refinery and a smelting section. Our Client is Australia’s leading independent precious metals refiner and it services the jewellery, dental and mining industries.



As a Precious Metals Process Technician you will be working in both the refining and smelting departments. Precious metal refining is a sophisticated process and DOES NOT utilise large scale furnaces as you may expect in other metal processing.

Working in a team, you will work in both the smelting and refining of precious metals utilising a variety of industry specific methods. The Company will provide you with in-house training which will include the use of induction and resistance furnaces and the use of various chemicals.

Excellent staff facilities include well appointed eating areas whilst management provides a full set of work clothes including jeans, boots, jumpers, jackets, etc.



  • Completed VCE or Equivalent with subjects in Chemistry. Experience working in an environment that utilises chemicals would be highly regarded.
  • Working in the smelting and refining departments means you will be dealing with chemicals and other dangerous goods, as well as some lifting. You must be comfortable and competent in this environment.
  • Good communication and time management skills.
  • Ability to take direction and work autonomously or as part of a team.
  • Flexible attitude to work.
  • Commitment to working safely and responsibly.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
