Our client is an established Consumer Goods company operating in a variety of markets including the growing health, wellness, personal care and other household items sectors. With a heritage of operating in Australia for well over a Century, the company has operations in Australia, New Zealand, and Asia, whilst locally operates out of offices in both Sydney and Melbourne.



As part of the R&D team, this role is responsible for the implementation of New Product Development initiatives into commercial reality. Responsibility for a portfolio of projects will commence at the point of an agreed formulation right though to the completion of the entire project up to and including first production.

The role is based ideally in the Sydney office (Melbourne would be considered) supporting the business in sourcing products throughout its third party manufacturing network in Asia and the Pacific, to support the growth objectives within each Category. It will initially be offered as a short term contract (3-4 months), with a view to permanency for the right candidate.

Reporting to the Research & Development Director, you will be managing a small team of Pre-production Coordinators to manage projects to scope, time and costs resulting in commercial benefits for the Company.

Some of the responsibilities include:

  • Effectively manage critical path for each project, ensuring schedules, samples and first production are met
  • Manage sourcing and supply
  • Creation and analysis of costing
  • Sourcing & communicating with local and overseas suppliers on all production requirements.
  • Coordinate and ascertain approvals on samples and mass production samples
  • Coordinate packaging cost/ time-line and packaging sample management
  • Assist in creating and implementing sourcing technical documents for new products
  • General administration support as required
  • Negotiating better pricing, terms and conditions
  • Ensuring all negotiated agreements are documented and signed
  • Quality Assurance and issue resolution with suppliers



To be successful in your application you will need to meet the following criteria:

  • At least five years’ relevant procurement or project management experience – within Cosmetics and Personal Care industry/retail will be highly regarded
  • Proven experience in managing teams
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills
  • Proven professional approach in business dealings
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively both independently and within a team
  • Highly organized with a strong analytical mindset
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to develop and complete projects
  • Proven ability to prioritize in order to meet deadlines and provide high quality results to management
  • Interest in the Health, Wellness & Beauty sector
