Our client, specialising in food testing, is currently seeking an Analytical Chemist to join their busy, Melbourne based laboratory. The main testing streams are food chemistry, microbiology, allergens and chemical residues in rice, grains and produce.  The laboratories are state of the art and for those who wish to drive to work, there is plenty of parking onsite.



The available position is within the chemical residues unit, mainly analysing low level pesticides and herbicides in food samples. You will be expected to prepare your samples for analysis and take ownership of your workload to meet the demands of your clients. This is a permanent full-time role.



This role will suit candidates with at least some experience in low-level analysis by GCMS or LCMS. Experience in the analysis of Pesticide Residues would be highly regarded.

To be short listed you must be able to meet the following criteria:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Chemistry
  • 2-3 years experience in preparing samples and then analysing these on GCMS and/or LCMS
  • Previous food testing experience will be viewed favourably
  • Excellent communication, organisational and time management skills
  • A quick learner
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Great interpersonal skills
  • Must be a permanent resident or have full working rights
