CLIENT
Based near Melbourne’s CBD, our client’s Laboratory specialises predominately in Chromatography. With an enviable reputation, the industries served range from agricultural, environmental and air quality through to waste water and drinking water.
ROLE
Having completed NATA accreditation to the ISO17025 standard, the role is to maintain this accreditation through diligence in quality processes and to ensure any new analytical methods seeking accreditation are developed with this in mind. This is a part-time, permanent position requiring the successful candidate to work an estimated at 20 hours per week. There is flexibility to do these hours over a three, four or five-day week by agreement.
Being a NATA accredited laboratory, means that clients can be confident in the analytical processes and results of the laboratory, as accredited methods have been validated and verified according to ISO17025. The successful candidate will ensure through rigorous assessments that existing methods, Quality Documents, SOPs, critical audit schedules and management review as well as overall quality is adequately reflected through proper document control processes.
This role is not a hands on laboratory role but does require an understanding of the workings of a chemical laboratory so the successful candidate will have spent significant time as a senior analyst and a NATA signatory.
SELECTION CRITERIA
To be short-listed for this great opportunity, you will have a background in laboratory testing (chemistry ), and must have been previously responsible for the quality assurance of testing to NATA standards – ideally several years conducting this function.
You will be comfortable working in a small business, and have the ability to be flexible due to the non-routine nature of the analytical services provided. As the Subject Matter Expert on NATA standards, you will be proactive, highly organised and have good time management ability.
Some chromatographic and analytical equipment experience will be invaluable as will proficiency in the MS suite of programs.
