Our client is the largest manufacturer of pharmaceuticals and complementary medicines in Australia – providing manufacturing and technical services to leading multinational pharmaceutical companies.

Committed to providing quality, efficiency and value for their customers, their GMP licensed manufacturing facilities in Victoria and New South Wales utilise a broad range of production technologies and a large tool kit to solve problems and/or improve products. Their contract manufacturing services offer the full range of pharmaceutical production and support services including liquids, creams and ointments, solid dose and packaging.



The Microbiologist role is a 12 month full-time role based in the SE suburbs of Melbourne to cover a Maternity Leave position.

Reporting to the Microbiology Supervisor, the Microbiologist’s primary responsibility is to conduct analytical microbiological testing for the site’s operation and ensure its ongoing compliance to the code of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).



  • Microbial method validation
  • Routine microbial testing of raw materials and finished products
  • Monitoring of process water and factory environmental testing
  • GLP / General housekeeping procedures
  • Provide technical assistance to other department



To be successful in your application, you will need to meet the following requirements:

Tertiary qualifications in Science (Microbiology)
Sound microbiological knowledge and analytical skills gained from at least 3 years of experience
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to multi-task effectively in a fast paced environment whilst still maintaining strong attention to detail
Demonstrated ability to solve problems with a positive attitude
Team player with good organizational skills, high degree of accountability and ethical standard
