THE ROLE

Based in the Western suburbs of Melbourne, the successful candidate will be reporting to the Engineering Manager supporting the needs of Supply Chain and Manufacturing. This renowned global business is expanding their presence in the region and are looking for a driven and committed Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join their team on a full time permanent basis.

The successful candidate will be looking after the maintenance of the manufacturing plant and will be instrumental in the upcoming automation projects scheduled for the site. This role will have one direct report.

We are looking for someone who is a team player, with good problem solving skills. It is necessary for the person in this role to have experience in the manufacturing industry with various blending and assembling equipment. 

Key Duties Include:

  • Effectively utilise preventative and maintenance programs to ensure smooth operation of manufacturing plants and prevent disruptions to product manufacturing
  • Review existing systems and introduce new measures to ensure all plant equipment is preserved and in a reliable and safe conditions
  • Ensure all preventative and maintenance work is performed according to schedule and in timely manner
  • Work closely with Production Department and the Maintenance Planner to ensure improvement work is well communicated and effectively scheduled
  • Demonstrate strong Project Engineering skills that display the ability to develop Process Specification, new Procedures, Equipment Testing and Commissioning
  • Lead by example by using and promoting all applicable corporate and site policies and procedures with regard to personal conduct and HSE standards

SELECTION CRITERIA

To be successful in your application you will need to meet the following criteria:

  • Bachelor Degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering
  • Ideally 5-10 years of experience in a similar role
  • Engineering experience within a manufacturing environment is a must
  • Previous experience with MEX would get your application fast tracked but SAP experience or any ERP system will be considered also
  • Experience with reviewing, writing and implementing maintenance and preventative programs as a Mechanical Engineer in a manufacturing plant
  • Well developed influencing and problem solving skills
  • Conceptual, analytical and result-oriented approach
  • Service oriented and with a solution focused mindset
  • Ability to execute strategies, including planning and implementation of various initiatives
  • Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships internally and externally
  • Must have full working rights
