Our client is a leading manufacturer and supplier of thousands of household, consumer and industrial products. POSITION

Due to an internal secondment, our client has a three month (minimum) vacancy in their Product Integrity Team, based in Melbourne’s Western Suburbs. This opportunity would suit an early career scientist, with suitable qualifications such as Cert IV, Diploma or Degree qualified candidates within an appropriate scientific discipline.

This contract role will commence immediately and will require you to work 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Initially for a three month tenure, there is potential for this to extend for a subsequent three month period.

The successful candidate will be conducting a combination of analytical and physical  testing of polymer products, intermediates and raw materials to verify satisfactory quality and fit-for-purpose properties.

 

REQUIREMENTS

We are looking for an energetic and enthusiastic Laboratory Technician with a year or two experience in a laboratory who is interested in progressing in their scientific career!  

If this is you and wish to apply, please read our requirements below:

  • A Certificate IV, Diploma or Degree in chemistry or related scientific discipline
  • Experience in a Quality Assurance/Quality Control laboratory associated with chemical manufacturing
  • Previous experience in operating analytical instruments – DSC, TGA, GC, HPLC, FTIR
  • Keen ability to learn physical chemistry testing procedures such as tensile strength measurements related to the industry
  • Good writing skills and computer literacy in English
  • Must have a good eye for detail and a strong appreciation for safety in the work place
  • Excellent communication skills – you will be liaising with personnel of all levels of the company
  • Good time management skills and the ability to multi task
  • MUST be a good team player and reliable!
