THE COMPANY

Our client is well known ASX listed Biotech company that develops and commercialises a range of patented products for the global market. Based in Melbourne’s CBD, our client provides modern facilities close to public transport and a friendly, supportive work environment.

 

ROLE

Using innovative technology to deliver drugs across the skin, our client is looking to employ a Laboratory Technician on a part time, flexible basis for a 9 month contract.

Should you secure this position, your responsibilities will include:

  • Cleaning laboratory glassware
  • Maintaining a clean laboratory
  • Storage of incoming goods and maintaining chemical database
  • Participate in OH&S Audits
  • Prepare solutions
  • Assist analysts with bench work
  • Source and place orders for laboratory consumables as needed
  • Calibrate instruments – HPLC, UPLC & GC (some training will be provided for appropriate candidate)

* This is a maternity leave contract, however if our clients work demands increase this role may be extended or made permanent.

 

REQUIREMENTS

As a true team player reporting to the Senior Scientist/Laboratory Manager, your role will primarily provide technical support to the QC and R&D areas of the laboratory.

You will have:

  • Diploma/Certificate in Laboratory Techniques OR Bachelor of Science and related degrees
  • Some experience working as a Laboratory Technician OR in a laboratory would be advantageous
  • Calibration of HPLC, UPLC and GC would be highly regarded
  • Excellent organisational, people and time management skills
  • Strong OH&S awareness
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential
  • Attention to detail and strong ability to multi-task.
  • You will be flexible with an excellent work ethic.
