CLIENT

Our client, a busy Consulting Laboratory, is looking for an experienced Laboratory Technician to assist in their busy chemistry laboratories to help provide a high quality and rapid service to their clients. This permanent role, based in Melbourne, is on offer for an enthusiastic Laboratory Technician.

 

ROLE

This role will consist of routine laboratory duties such as aliquoting of samples and preparation of samples before testing, basic testing methods, preparation of reagents and media, assist in the sample reception area as required, filing of sample testing records/samples, calibration/monitoring of basic laboratory equipment, complete legible notebooks and maintain a safe and clean working environment at all times.

We are looking for person with initiative, a keen eye for detail, who has excellent time management, multi-tasking and communication skills, is a team player and is ready for their next career challenge.

 

SELECTION CRITERIA

To be considered for this role you must meet the following criteria:

  • Hold a Certificate or Diploma in science. Chemistry, Biochemistry, Immunology or similar would be preferred.
  • Have at least a few years’ experience working in a similar laboratory setting.
  • Have experience with basic sample and media preparation,
  • Experience with SPE methods and immunoassay techniques (ELISA’s) would be highly advantageous.
  • Good computer literacy is essential.
  • Experience with LIMS highly advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Able to multi-task and manage your time well.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work as a team member or individually under general direction.
  • Be adaptable and flexible to deal with a varying work load.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Great work ethic, reliability and a good eye for detail are essential for this busy role.
