My client is a national award winning business that specialise in geotechnical and environmental engineering for the last 15 years. They have office locations in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. Due to the number of some high profile projects they are working on, they are seeking the expertise of an experienced Senior Geotechnician or Laboratory Manager from a soils testing background to manage the day to day operations of a lab as well as deal with new and existing clients.

 

ROLE 

In this position you will be involve in routine soil testing such as compaction, PI, CBR’s and other specialty tests. Apart from that you will be responsible for managing the soils lab, be involved dealing with new and existing clients as well as some field investigations carrying out Level 1 & 2 testing on a range of commercial, residential and civil infrastructure projects.

 

SELECTION CRITERIA

To be considered for this role you will need to meet the following:

  • Qualified Geotechnical Engineer or Geotechnician with at least 5 years of experience working in soils lab &/or experience in field testing
  • Have good experience with various soils testing practices such as CBR’s, PI, compaction, triaxial
  • Be able to obtain a NATA signatory status for most or all of the above tests mentioned
  • Have good communication skills both verbal and written as you will be involved dealing with internal and external stakeholders on regular basis
  • Must have management experience as you will be leading and mentoring a team of geotechnicians
