Our client manufactures a variety of dairy based products, for both local and international use. They have a modern purpose built factory in one of the major dairy producing areas of Australia, located south east of Melbourne and have a strong vendor assurance program to ensure that only the best milk is sourced for processing. Over the years they have worked closely with their customers to tailor make products to make high quality, nutritious products, and put quality at the heart of their business so that they do things right, first time, every time.



Reporting to the Senior Analytical Chemist, the successful candidate will have at least three years experience working in a laboratory environment, and be able to carry out the calibration, maintenance, and repair of instrumentation and equipment. The role will also include routine analytical testing using the various instruments required to support the business. Instruments used in the laboratory include NIR/IR, HPLC, and ICP-OES, all of which are less than 2 years old. The ideal candidate will have dairy or mining experience, the ability to analyse data and interpret the results and have proven ability to work in a team environment.



To be successful in your application, the following will be highly regarded:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Science, Engineering or similar
  • Minimum of three years experience in Analytical Laboratory
  • Experience with the calibration, repair and maintenance of NIR, HPLC and ICP-OES
  • Strong knowledge of calibration techniques and procedures
  • Mechanical aptitude to maintain equipment per manufacturer’s recommendations
  • Proven understanding of statistical methods, sampling and ability to conduct experimental test methodology
  • Attention to detail, logical approach and a completer/finisher mentality
  • Strong communication skills and a team player
