Our client is a growing health and wellness company that is owned and operated within Australia. They have their own manufacturing base in Melbourne and a commitment to the health and good nutrition for the people of Australia and around the world. With a strong belief in doing good is good for business, hence a growing product range, they now seek an experienced Laboratory Analyst to join their team. 



This permanent full-time role is supporting the business in maintaining their quality standards for their finished goods by testing samples at each stage of the manufacturing process along with the manufacturing environment.

As the successful candidate, you will be performing physical and chemical testing under GLP. Utilising your time effectively and reporting to the Laboratory Manager, your role will be predominately working on quality control testing of raw materials, in-process materials and finished products. You will be utilising many analytical instruments including HPLC, GC, FTIR and UV/VIS Spectrophotometer.



To be successful in your application you will need to meet the following criteria:

  • Minimum of a BSc in Chemistry or similar
  • Three years’ experience working in a similar laboratory role testing within a relevant manufacturing environment, such as the Pharmaceutical or Food industry
  • A familiarity with operating within a regulated environment, including GMP, and able to drive improvements into QMS elements and related continuous improvement activities
  • Demonstrated experience with analytical instruments such as HPLC and GC, including calibration and troubleshooting and ideally with an understanding of method development
  • Evidence of operating, troubleshooting and maintaining FTIR and UV/VIS Spectrophotometer
  • An appreciation for Microbiological testing would be an advantage
  • MUST have a good eye for detail, be a good team player and reliable
  • Possess a good understanding of quality and safety standards
  • You must be flexible in your approach and able to cope with changes in priorities.
  • High level of self-motivation and problem-solving capability
  • Ability to exercise individual judgement and initiative in the application of scientific principles, techniques and methods
  • Excellent time management skills, attention to detail and a strong ability to multi-task.
  • Key to this role will be your flexible “can do” attitude, excellent work ethic and initiative whilst working autonomously or as part of a team
