Our client requires an Internal Sales Engineer to join its team in a full-time permanent position. The successful candidate will ensure the company continues to achieve its sales targets and, working in its head office in Melbourne, also provide excellent customer service to all its clients.

An ability to liaise with various clients on technical matters relating to the company’s products and related services shall be paramount to being successful in this role.

Some of the main duties associated with this permanent position include:

  • the provision of support to all customers of the company in relation to sales, quotations and technical information on its products and related services;
  • proactively achieve sales targets via telephone calls to new and existing customers; and
  • support existing sales engineers from within the company’s head office.



To be successful in your application, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Ideally a Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related scientific discipline
  • Technical knowledge of industrial measurements and/or process control systems, as a foundation on which specific product knowledge can be built
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve sales to meet annual targets through leveraging knowledge of a portfolio of products and services
  • Capacity to build and maintain business relationships with multiple clients, which includes being highly responsive to all inbound communications
  • Ability to provide quotations and technical support to customers in a timely manner
  • Experience with the timely resolution of any issues arising from complaints or non-conforming products
  • Proven track record for time management skills and the ability to work as an integral part of a team
  • Where necessary, have the confidence to use your own initiative to get the job done
  • Ensure ongoing customer satisfaction ratings are maintained through the quality of order fulfilment
