Our client is a well-known and highly respected Food Manufacturer. They are part of a global, diversified international group employing over 100,000 employees worldwide. With clarity on future direction and clearly defined values, our client is one of Australia’s and New Zealand’s largest food manufacturers.

 

ROLE

You Pick! This senior role offers flexibility in regards to location. You can be based in Melbourne with some travel to Regional Victoria or you can relocate and live in one of the beautiful country towns near Bendigo.

Reporting to the Operations Director, the HSE Manager will develop risk reduction programs and embed site wide HSE initiatives to drive a strong safety culture.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing the HSE team to continually evolve the environment towards strong safety behaviours at all levels. You will provide the business with technical and practical HSE advice ensuring all HSE state regulations are complied with and all safety programs are successfully rolled out.

Vital to this role will be your ability to provide the leadership, structure and resources to improve safety and engagement to industry best practice levels. You will lead the site management team to comply with all Company and Legislative health and safety policies and procedures and maintain a safe and healthy work environment that does not tolerate unsafe behaviours or acts.

This is a very large, complex and fast-paced operation and requires a Manager who is passionate about safety. You must be decisive and confident, able to work with cross-functional teams to ensure all concerns are addressed appropriately.

 

SELECTION CRITERIA

To be successful in your application you will need to meet the following criteria:

  • Degree qualified with a postgraduate Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety and a Certificate IV in Training would be ideal.
  • Strong experience in a Health, Safety and Environment role within a manufacturing environment would be well regarded
  • Broad knowledge of HSE is required to audit, support and coach the site through safety improvement
  • Highly consultative and collaborative to build strong relationships with key stakeholders, seeking first to understand key needs and requirements
  • Influencing and persistent, you will be able to seamlessly influence and work through others to achieve results
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in team engagement, cultural change and process improvement
  • Proven analytical and problem solving skills to support the team when system issues arise
  • Ability to make quick decisions, and put clear actions into place to proactively address problems on a daily basis
  • Proven experience identifying and deploying process improvements
