Our client, a well-known company, manufactures and supplies durable thermoplastic products, environmentally-friendly and user safe compounds with application in infrastructure projects. They are currently seeking a motivated Chemist to be trained in the quality control of their products in their Melbourne plant.



This is a two month contract working Monday to Friday with overtime as required, sometimes on the weekend. The successful candidate will be a Graduate Chemist with great regard for safety in the laboratory, a quick learner with a good eye for detail. The role involves quality control testing of road marking paint. The tests are simple but unique to the industry so full training will be provided. Physical in nature, they include viscosity, colour matching, solids etc. We are particularly interested in candidates who are motivated and wish to prove themselves as capable chemists. The successful candidate will have strong communication skills and be a strong team player, reliable and with a good work ethic.



To be successful in your application you will need to meet the following criteria:

  • Must be available to start work immediately and work overtime on weekends if needed.
  • Tertiary qualifications in chemistry or a related field.
  • Experience conducting testing in a university laboratory is sufficient as full training will be provided.
  • Must have a good eye for detail and an appreciation for safety in the work place.
  • Good writing skills and computer literacy and the ability to work autonomously once trained.
  • Excellent communication skills – you will be liaising with personnel of all levels of the company.
  • Good time management skills and the ability to multi task.
  • MUST be a good team player and reliable!
  • Must have current work rights
