Our client is a leading global organisation that has over 4000 employees, across all continents, in more than 30 countries. They specialise in the breeding, production and sale of agricultural seeds to improve productivity for growers.

The company’s aim is to provide added value to all stakeholders, including scientific development partners, the farmers who grow their seeds, the processors who work to meet consumer needs, and the local communities in which they operate in.



Due to the ever increasing demand for their products, our client is seeking to employ a Global Quality Assurance Manager. This senior position will play an integral part in the company’s Quality Assurance Program, implementing global standards whilst meeting all legal, business and regulatory requirements.

Ideally, the role will be based at the Company’s Head Office in Melbourne, Australia, however, there is some flexibility for the right person to be based in the United States.

The successful candidate will have strong leadership qualities, be customer focused, a decision maker and able to complete tasks and projects on time. To be short-listed, you will have worked in similar roles for a number of years and will have an excellent understanding of the agricultural seeds business together with a strong commercial awareness.



In this challenging position, you will be involved in heading up the process of reviewing, developing and implementing the Global Quality Assurance program across the entire business. You will also implement best practice quality training programs for internal and external stakeholders and work at a local and global level to lead the entire QA process. In doing so, you will be influential in ensuring buy-in from all the program partners.

This role is also responsible for the development of quality control reports, the creation of statistical process control metrics, non-conformity measures and recommendations for continuous improvement activities.

Other duties include the communication and sharing of the company’s quality philosophy to ensure the companies QA program complies with all legal and regulatory requirements as directed by company’s legal personnel.



To be successful in your application, you will need to meet the following criteria:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Science, specialising in Genetics, Molecular Biology or a similar scientific discipline
  • A minimum of five years’ experience in a similar role within the Seeds Industry
  • Intimate working knowledge of QA programme processes and a good understanding of regulatory requirements on a global level
  • Good understanding of plant breeding and hybrid production practices and in particular how they relate to GMO’s
  • Practical ability in using the tools and equipment required to deliver molecular biology capabilities to the company’s seed business
  • Experience in developing and implementing a change management program
  • Knowledge of statistics and its application to sampling and QA management
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work as a team member or individually under general direction.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English with a proven ability to meet goals, targets and deadlines.
  • A good work ethic, excellent interpersonal skills and a good team player is a must!
