Our client is a well-known multinational company that provides integrated solutions to a wide range of industries including pharmaceutical, biotech, consumer health and specialty chemicals markets globally. In Australia the company produces products that enhance and preserve both the long-term performance and appearance of natural and synthetic materials—whilst simultaneously protecting a material to which the product has been applied from microbiological degradation or defacement.
In our client’s recently upgraded and expanded R&D facility, located to the west of Melbourne, is based a small yet highly specialised group of multidisciplinary scientists. There the company develops a range of products used in industrial preservation applications across a wide range of industries, which includes some APVMA registered agricultural chemical products. Through its partnerships with producers of materials, manufacturers of end-use products, and users applying its formulations, materials that are treated with the company’s speciality chemicals have enhanced durability and resilience to environmental factors, fire, microbiological degradation and other hazards.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced formulation chemist to join our client’s growing team of development scientists. The R&D facility is based in the western suburbs of Melbourne and the position of Formulation Development Scientist directly reports to the Technical Lead who also works within the facility.
In this role, you will contribute to the growth of our client’s portfolio by focusing on formulating products intended for use in the Asia-Pacific region. This growth will be achieved by executing product development strategies to develop new products and supporting existing products through technical service.
Additionally, where applicable, you will work collaboratively with teams located elsewhere around the globe—some domestic and international travel may be required.
Key duties of the role include:
Success in this role will see you develop subject matter expertise and, ultimately, may progress to you taking greater responsibility in the management of R&D activities within the APAC region.
